Apparently, I live in the suburbs

I've been too lazy to do it in the past. I could never convince myself to get up a little earlier to take our puppy for a walk in the morning before work. But I always see people out doing it and it looks like a good time. And now that hte summerheat is finally here, it is getting impossible to walk after dinner because it is so hot.

So this morning, up I got. It took the dog a while to figure out what was going on - she knew what the preparations were for, baggie, cookies, running shoes, leash - but she was disbelieving. Well, once she realized it was true, she was a little wild. Sorry hubby, I know you were sleeping. Off we went.

I don't think I have ever felt as fully as I did this morning that we live in the suburbs. It is 7 am and I must have passed about six people walking their dogs before work or school or wherever it is that kids go in the summertime. There definitely was a little boy walking the family dog and I am sure it must be one of his "chores" because he looked pretty miserable doing it! Actually, I am not sure I looked a lot different. It started out pretty cool outside and so I had worn pants and a light sweatshirt. Something I regretted after about ten seconds as it started to get humid out. I think I sweated more in 20 minutes than I have in the last week.

But the dog loved it. And she got to sniff new puppy friends. I wonder if we will see the same people tomorrow. I bet we do. We will be one of those suburban people, doing the same thing every day, passing the same people and the same dogs. I'm not sure I like the sounds of that but today was enjoyable. Almost worth losing sleep over. I will have to try it again.
